Well, now there's no doubt spring has arrived! I've never grown Encelia but I should probably try it given how tough it is. I'm glad your roses are gearing up for a new season - I know how you love them.
Yes, I've been so hungry for roses, and it's wonderful to watch the buds coming on at last. I really love using Encelia--partly because it's well adapted as only a wild plant can be, but partly because it can be such a good foliage/structure plant even when not in bloom. And those yellow daisies with just a hint of ruffle... ;-)
