I love the Dianthus. I've none of those in my garden at the moment and may have to remedy that omission ;) I think of you whenever I see Catharanthus, although it's never grown for me as well as it does for you.

I'm always surprised at how well dianthus grows in drier gardens, Kris. I planted one in Missouri, but it didn't survive last winter though it should have been hardy enough. Probably the heavy clay soil was the problem. Not an issue I'll be having in this garden, with its gravel and rocks! I have my fingers crossed on the Catharanthus here, but so far it's growing well. I would think it would like conditions in your garden, but one can't necessarily second-guess the opinions of plants!

Thanks, Cathy! They are all still such tiny plants; I have to take a bit here and a bit there. ;-) It does make for enjoyment of the details!
