You have a lovely little collection of bearded Irises, Amy. I need to hunt down a source for the aril types as they might be a better bet for my climate too. So far, only one noID variety, a very dark purple with a white beard, has made an appearance. Luckily, my dutch and Pacific Coast Irises have been more cooperative.
I'm loving the variety of irises and bloom times, Kris. I still don't know how you convince your Dutch irises to flower so well! ;-)
I've purchased most of my bearded irises from two sources: Willow Bend Iris Farm in Colorado and Bluebird Haven Iris Garden in California.. They're both small, privately run farms, which is nice, but they sell out quickly for the same reasons. Each carries some arilbreds. Sheriffa came from Bluebird Haven.
Gorgeous!
Thanks so much--the last big fling as the heat begins to set in...! ;-)
They are all beautiful Amy. What a great collection, and lovely photos too. 😃
Thanks so much, Cathy! It's thrilling to see these beauties finally begin to bloom. :) Have a lovely week!
