When I first opened your post, before I'd pulled it all the way down, I saw the top half of the Opuntia and wondered: "Is Amy growing parrot tulips?" Nature manages to create look-alikes across a wide spectrum of climates :)

The prickly pear blossoms really are lovely Amy. But it is your collection of salvias I am drawn to most! Gorgeous! I grow some S. greggii as annuals but as I rarely have success with cuttings I have to be selective as to which I buy each spring. The unidentified wild flower is very pretty. I hope you can find out what it is. Some may say it is not important to know names, but I think you are curious, like me!
