It's a slow business to build a garden from scratch but it sounds like you've focused your vision for it so you're off and running. I love the delicate pink fairy duster, which looks more elegant than my Calliandra haematocephala.
I've never grown Calliandra haematocephala, but it always seems so much more showy (not to mention a great deal larger) than my little fairydusters. C. eriophylla grows only about three feet tall and wide--which of course means there is plenty of room for more... ;-)
