Today’s vase is a wispy little summery concoction. The tea rose Safrano has been blooming, but the flowers are quite small right now—about as small as a good-sized miniature rose bloom. I decided to go ahead and use a spray of them in a small-scale arrangement.
I left them on their stem, only trimming off the spent blooms.
Other blooms come from a deep carmine carnation…
…along with the still-tight green buds of oregano (Oreganum vulgare).
I used my small, copper-glazed, drop-shaped vase—sadly after breaking its sister-piece, my long-necked bud vase. The soft colors blended with a summery look that felt right for these warm, very sunny days.
I hope all of you are enjoying a beautiful May. If you also enjoy these weekly vases, please do check the many other wonderful posts that link with this theme at Rambling in the Garden.
Your vase is perfect for the teeny roses Amy, and the closed buds of oregano was an inspired accompaniment
Your roses are beautfiul Amy. I am constantly amazed at how well they do in your desert climate. Lovely vase!
